User testing 1
- Toy sword, bought at Action.
Simulating the actual sword from the game

-The first prototype we got was just to see the structure of the sword in our hands. For this reason, we got a toy sword from Action. The idea was to see the average height of a kid and what kind of sword are made depending on a kid’s height.

- A rope connected one side to the sword and the other side to the screen, to simulate the cable. (later we found out we can connect the sword with Bluetooth so no cable was needed)

During the break, Marco made the user testing with hid cousin who is 10 years old. We wanted to see what kind of movements the boy is going to come up with and is it natural or no. The feedback that we receive was that the kid couldn’t come with splash movements with the sword. After this, with Marco we decided to put instruction where we can help them with what kind of movement, they can use the sword.

In the perfect scenario of our project, we would like it to be a product which is accessible for more kids, not only in the shop store. That’s why we want to have the game in primary schools. I asked my aunt who is a teacher to be my user tester and to ask the kids questions about the game. Our goal with this user testing was to see if the game is interesting for the kids, do they understand the task or is it too complicated. The last question was more out of curiosity: what kind of game do you want to have?

Result: The teacher told me the games they recently play and it’s usually with swords. They love ninjas and were exciting about the game. They are interested to have a story during the game, to have levels with different difficulty, each one of them to have a sword and a belt and to be a game for two in order to have fun together. After this, we thought that we can include in the perfect scenario different levels and a storyline throughout the whole game.

Our fourth user was Come. We had just finished the making of the sword and we wanted an opinion on what kind of moves they are going to come up with while holding the sword. Come gave us a really good advice with the moves, but also to remove some edges on the sword that might be not so comfortable.

Our third user was one of our friends in the academy, Martyna. We had just finished the sword and we wanted to see how she feels the sword in her hands, is it difficult to hold, is it heavy, is the blade too small or too high. The feedback we received is the height is really nice, also to hold it is very easy and it’s not heavy.
User testing 5
Our fifth user was actually in our user group: a 9-year-old girl who has interest in music. She was in the academy with her sister and that’s how we had the opportunity to test the visual and the logic of the game. Everything went well and she enjoyed playing with the sword. What we modified after this was the length of the song that we play through the game.

Prepare a 30 seconds pitch / How do you introduce your project?

This is a test for our Game. Don't worry about how you play just try to go along the instructions I give you. What you see now is a sword and a screen, you can grab the sword and you need to follow my instructions on the video call we are doing. I will show you 2 fingers and 3 fingers for. If I show you 2 fingers you can do one move and for the 3 fingers another move. As soon as the music begins the game begins. Have fun!
